2024 Osprey Jr.

The Matt Martin Guitars Osprey Jr. is the very essence of what a guitar can be. Taking it's inspiration from the great concert guitars, the impetus behind the development of yet another take on a 70-year-old instrument was to, as far as possible, strip away anything that comes between the sound in your head and the voice of your amplifier.

The output of the one humbucking pickup in the bridge position runs through single volume and tone controls, and that is all. No coil tapping or splitting, no phase reversal, and no preamp shaping. The only concession to convenience is the DiO (Direct Out) switch, which takes the signal from the pickup straight to the output jack.

The scale length of 650mm is taken directly from modern concert guitars. A 43mm nut and 22 frets complete the neck which is mounted in an extended neck pocket to further support the tactile experience of playing your guitar.
